Poker Women Winning Online and in Live Tournaments

With EPT Season 9 all wrapped up in Monte Carlo, it’s safe to say that the top poker women definitely made their mark at this tournament.

Vanessa Selbst, the world’s top female poker tournament earner, made her presence felt when she was leading the final 12 on day two of the EPT Grand Final  25,000 High Roller event. By the end of play on day two, Selbst had bagged a massive 1.607 million in chips, placing her more than 650,000 chips ahead of second-place player Toby Lewis. She had been the winner at the 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller Event but her luck ran out on day three and she took a very respectable fourth with a prize of  290,300, beating defending champion Igor Kurganov, who was out in seventh. Several top players took part in the event, many of whom are known to play poker online. The cross over to live games added an interesting dimension. Poker women.

The EPT 9 Grand Final Women’s Event was won by Irina Batorevich, who beat a field of 35 other players to take home the title and winnings of 10,300. The final result was a two-way split that Irina brokered. Anna Yamshchikova and Elanur Dikilitas placed second and third respectively with  10,300 and  4,750. Irina has recently been racking up wins around Europe and her victory at the EPT has increased her overall winnings to $200,000, making her one of the poker women to watch.

Annette Obrestad has had a relatively slow 2013 so far, but she took on Marijn Van Puffelen in the EPT 9 Grand Final  5k heads-up and ended up coming second. Annette likes to play poker online and participate in live games and her  20,370 win in the event has hopefully put her on better footing for the rest of the year. WSOPE winner Obrestad was one of 12 in the field and the Norwegian narrowly missed taking first place, being beaten by Van Puffelen.

Lastly, for the poker women who like to play online, the PokerStars Women’s Sunday game is always a great event. This week xHAPKOMAHx crushed the final four and beat 220 players to first place and prize of $2,249.50. xHAPKOMAHx hails from Belarus and has been on a serious hot streak. She recently made one of her largest online scores and now she is this week’s Women’s Sunday Champion. She took the lead from early on in the game and firmly put panda_kls into second with $1,650.00 and luckyno75 into third with $1,243.00. Poker women.
